The Mayor’s view of Women’s role in our Society

Following Miss Foley’s appointment as, quoting Mayor Renfort, "Chicago’s Ladies Bodyguard" the sl Chicago Herald sent a few questions to the City Hall to find out his point of view in matters concerning women’s role in our society and their right to vote. 


1. How do you face women’s role in the modern Society?
2. Do you support women’s right to vote?
3. How would you face the growing participation of Women in Politics?
4. What role or position would you give to women in the near future?


We did not receive the answers or any kind of notice from the Mayor... I cannot help wondering if the Mayor's lack of response is due to the fact that this newspaper's editor is a woman... 
Allow me to tell you that the Mayor appointed Miss Foley after a number ladies asked the Mayor for increase security in our streets due to several attacks on women around the city...
How can we be shocked with the growing violence in our city if the Mayor is the first to turn the face away...? How can we be surprised if the Mayor is shot or if the City Hall is attacked with Molotov Cocktails...?
